Can you tell us about your background and how you made the decision to go to become an attorney?
Before I went to law school, I taught English as a foreign language to children. I enjoyed it but wanted to do something more analytical while also focusing on language.
How did law school change you for the better?
Law school helped me learn how to spot the weaknesses in my own arguments.
How did you decide you wanted to focus on your area of practice?
I found that I enjoyed litigation while preparing for a small claims trial, very early in my career.
Do you have any words of wisdom for law students generally as they navigate their career search?
You may be surprised by what kind of work you end up preferring. Keep in mind that a law career tends to be a long-term investment.
What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
It depends on the week. But time management and learning when to put aside my reservations and commit to an argument or presentation are frequent challenges.
